Olive 7 1/2 months

olive is gorgeous! That's what I was hoping my Nero would be but he ended up a he and a different kind of pretty :) what color are her eggs?

Thank you! I have no idea of what genes he may have, but he is an awesome lil guy. Nice and heavy too for his size as well. His gold feathers reflect a gold when the sun hits him but it's very hard to see the difference. He is from Meyer Hatchery.

Lurch! Heeeheee! He is quite pretty and what a name! I sense a theme going on there.... ;)

yeah had theme there. Pugsley had to be removed though. He became too aggressive and I won't put up with it. My 3 males know not to mess with Mom, she will pick you up and hold you while you call her names.

In December one of my bantams decided to hide a nest and hatch me 7 chicks. The father is an EE rooster, mother is half d'Uccle half game. The chicks all have pea combs and muffs, so they will be EE bantams. Since the blue gene is dominant over white, I expect to get blue eggs from them. Bantam sized blue eggs will make a nice addition to the egg basket!

Those sound like they'll be delightful! Can you post pictures of the parents?

is the rooster also a bantam?

Baby and Grace are about 8 weeks old now. They are going to beautiful birds when they mature.

We had them in their own coop after the garage, they are off the heat lamp and finally figured out

the whole ramp thing leading to the coop. We tried to open up the adjoining coop with the adult flock

that did not go so well (adults can be bullies). At least they can all see each other.

I have 3 EE roo's right now they start making noise around 4 am. Unless startled (I've been in the yard with a fire going at 2 am and they don't approve) they Al start crowing one after another and its nerve racking. ( I live in the city) my neighbors love them but I always worry. My boys can be heard almost 2 blocks away..
