Easter Egger club!

My free range girls are hiding their eggs in hard to find places this pick I had to reach for

My little EE girl is hiding in the garage of all places and yes I put the towel in to keep the eggs safe

Ya just never know what them ladys are going to do next it seems I can build all the nesting boxes and the free range chickens will always find their own place to build a nest ...

I had the garage door open for only about 5 minutes and in that time our Breda sneaked in and layed her egg on the cold cement floor and was out in a shot! She ALWAYS uses the coop nestbox but this one day she wanted to be near me while I was doing laundry!

We have a Easter Egger named Kitty, after That 70's show Kitty Forman. She is the most precious chicken ever, she is a brown Easter Egger and has the fluffiest muffs. She loves her cuddle time, unless she is freeranging.

We love her so much. We have a flock of 9 chickens. We have one serama, one golden laced wyandotte, 4 easter eggers, 2 Ameraucanas or Easter Eggers (don't exactly know), and one australorpxwellsummer x australorp mix, basically looks like a Australorp. They are all the most precious things ever. I love them and am so glad that we finally got some backyard chickens and I was so badly wanting to be on BYC. And I am just so happy about all the support you get here.

I agree - chickens are the best pets ever and give you returns both in eggs and fertilizer that doesn't burn your plants like dogs/cats (which I love too but am partial to the chickens since getting them). I have been so fascinated with the brown EEs on this thread. There is one that is chocolate brown and they named her Cadbury. Do you have a pic you can post of your brown EE Kitty? And where did you get Kitty?

I got her from my Grandma. She hatched them out of her own eggs. Here is our precious Kitty:
You can see where our Serama Uma is broody in the background.

Kitty is absolutely gorgeous and I LOVE the practical color of her muff/cheeks that won't show obvious stains from eating/foraging. My Blue Wheaten Ameraucana (my avatar) has very light-colored muffs and are always dirty/muddy from her foraging. What color egg did you say Kitty layed?

They sometimes change colors. She usually lays a blue one that is really pretty, like the one we got today, and then she sometimes lays like an olive-green just plain, or with speckles, and sometimes its almost like a gray.
Then there is our Serama Uma (who is my avatar) being broody, and one out of the two salmon breasted EE's that we have.
