Easter Egger club!

I see, I guess the lady who gave my Easter Egger to me was misguided as well. also my spelling was just a typo, never thought that was a seperate breed

EEs are great!. I enjoy them as much as I do my true Wheaten and Lavender Ameraucanas.

EEs seem to lay better, too.

Wow! What breed EE laid those?!
The blue with spots was laid by an Ameraucana crossed with a Marans. I haven't figured out who is laying the brown with spots, but I suspect it is the one that looks like a bearded Splash Marans. The pinkish one (I think) is from my Australorpington hybrid that I plan on crossing with a wheaten Ameraucana.

That is very true, but since hurricane Matthew, my EE's haven't been laying as well as before. This always happens when I have to house them with my tougher hens.

Hurricane Matthew put a dent in my girls' egg production for a short period. They didn't lay a single egg for a week, but then gradually increased until they reached pre-hurricane numbers. Stress will do a number on egg production.

Ok, I have a question about my two Easter eggers. They are exactly 31 weeks old and haven't started laying yet, are they on schedule?

The one on the left looks just like two of my boys, right down to the feathered feet.

From what I can see the other one looks like a girl, but the picture is dark so I can't be sure. Ameraucanas are later to start laying than other breeds. If the black on has any in her background, don't be surprised if she doesn't lay her first egg until 35 weeks. One way you can tell that she'll lay within a week's time is if she squats down when you tap her back.
