This one is confusing me. I've been leaning toward roo since we got it a few weeks ago because of the pink comb and now the red blotches. However the comb isn't developing at all and there is no roo behavior. I was able to spot the pointed feathers on our last roo as soon as they started coming in under the other feathers but the dark red ones coming in under all the feathers on this chick are rounded.
Could she just be getting her adult color in? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the hackle feathers would go all the way around the neck on one sex but stop on the sides for the other sex, but can't remember which way it went.

Rooster for sure. He has a rather pink comb, and reddish orange patches on his shoulders. Both of these are signs that "it" is a he.
