Both of mine looked identical to your right chick, bottom picture except mine had long tail feathers at 1 week old![]()
Looks exactly like one of mine at 8 days. These two were identical except in pic #1 the left chick had a little darker coloring. Now they are turning different colors but in the same scheme of things if that makes sense. #3 chick in the middle was similar but charcoalish blue above and yellowish blue below. It was always the biggest and now the others all have tail feather, that one only has an IDEA of tail feathers, so all along looks like a roo. I was hoping I would end up with some blue wheatons.
They both look like pullets so far, although can't really see Potato's comb well. Unless they have some red leakage, the feathers won't tell us anything until saddles start coming in (12 wks or so.) They're cute. Nice color.
What's the deal with red leakage? Is this a sure roo sign? They both look like pullets so far, although can't really see Potato's comb well. Unless they have some red leakage, the feathers won't tell us anything until saddles start coming in (12 wks or so.) They're cute. Nice color.![]()
We have an EE with red flecks on its wings. General consensus is that it's prolly a roo, even though its wings are becoming less defined in terms of pattern. Either it'll crow or lay an egg. Blargh
