Hello! These 2 hatched the first week of May, are almost a month old (the buff is from LFS). Any chance the one with the darker red is a boy? ( background story...I have the ultimate rooster, EE, passes the green egg gene, big, beautiful, gentle on the girls, exceptional flock protector...AND...for the past 4 years all of the eggs sired by him have been girls! Problem...he is at least 8 years old, shooting more and more blanks, and I would love to have one of his sons.). I know they are still young, but any thoughts? Thank you! (Sorry about the redundant pics...not sure how I managed that!)

It's still a bit early, but I think you are right, the darker red one does look like it might be a boy. If he is indeed a boy, his coloring should get more patchy over the next few weeks, and he will start getting dark red patches on his shoulders.

Thank you! The shoulders are redder than any others we have hatched!

7-8 week old Easter eggers - what gender??

I'm pretty sure #3 is a Roo and #2 is a pullet... But I'm stumped on #1. My gut says Roo but I've of course been trying to find any excuse to say it's a pullet. Haha

Hi all. I managed to hatch my first set of eggs from my beautiful EE cock, Akai. These 7 chicks are his. All but #1 and #7 are from the same hen. They are 3-weeks old in these pictures. Any guesses as to sex? My favourite is #1 and, although I wish it to be a pullet, my gut says cockerel!
