I seen one simular... "Forget the dog, beware the cat" LOL!

And Daphne, sounds good.... I understand. For the record, though... I have a doggie door in the back and the cats can come in and out as they please, but they rather all just stay outside except for the 3-5 coldest days of the year. I even built cat shelves that go up the walls in the basement for them to climb and sleep on. I can't believe I'm putting this online... yes, I go through major pains to keep the cats happy.

Oh and I have one that sleeps with the chickens. Yep. I have species confused animals. The goat goes to bed at dusk and eats flock raiser. The cat sleeps with the chickens. And I have a chicken that is BFF with the goat. Cat that thinks it's a dog and dogs who think they are human. Only the rabbit knows it's a rabbit. lol

Hahahaha. Sounds like your guys have it way better than these do here. I was proud that I put a plastic kennel out there with old towels in the bottom and a small tarp over the top. They sleep between stacks of wood, of course. I'm PM'ing you.

I don't have Buff Brahma's, but I hope to have gold and silver laced brahma's in the spring. They are gentle giants!

Love the story about the egg hunt. My Marans have not given me a single egg in 2 months. I would think at least 1 of 7 would. They where suppose to be laying when I got them..got maybe 4 eggs and that was it so...maybe a few where actually not old enough. I have kept them up to see if they would lay inside just in case they where laying somewhere else outside. But..nothing found yet...EXCEPT.. DH was in the loft of the barn to throw down some bales of hay. He looked between the two rows seeing something there. It was a nest with 10 eggs!! I knew when I saw them where they came from cause Mo is the only one who lays Med. eggs. (She is a Sumatra)

One day I went out to the barn and the ladder was laying against the wall of the breezeway. I happen to see Mo hop on the bottom rung...then she hopped up each one til she got to the loft. Now I know what she was up to. Wish I could have videoed he going up the ladder.

Tammy,
The business slows down starting about now. Get it all marked out and then get hold of me.....I'm fairly cheap in the off season. Im sure I'll see you guys at November show at any rate?

Bario thanks will do. I do not know I will make the Nov show. Time will tell on that.

When it rains it pours. MIL in hospital, hubby and I had a fight and now my small coop was broken into. All this in one day. I lost 3 chickens and door is ripped off hindges as well as eye bolts taken apart. What ever did that was strong. Must of happened early this morning too. Well, we still have big coop and it is secure as there is only one access point. Luckily non of the pullets were taken just 3 cull cockerals. I will switch over everyone else today.

argh..my typing fingers are getting cramped, lol. This crazy blog im writing is going viral and its hard to keep up now. If you dont hear from me, ill see everybody at the November show. I'll leave the link here to that blog, but be forewarned it is not about chickens and could be controversial depending on where you stand politically, so enter at your own risk. http://realismamerica.blogspot.com/

Just kidding. I'd say everyone is either at Crossroads or enjoying the weather.

To get back to chickens (mainly because if I shared my political beliefs you would Bairo would stroke out

) I have a chicken with an identity crises. She's a Wyandotte trapped in an Orp's body. I have two seperate pens and she will kill herself to get in the Wyandotte pen. She wants to roost with them at night and paces and cries at the divider when I put her back on the Orp side. She is related to all the Orps, she grew up with all the Orps, so why the defection?

ETA: added a smiley to help convey that I am JOKING!
