Its in Morristown, Its the first monday of every month, the sale is at the old stockyard barn in buffalo trail. They also have auctions there every saturday @4pm but I highly advise not to get birds there without carefully inspecting them first or anything else for that matter when dealing with the auction. Their workers do not know one breed from another.

hey laughing dog..... Where is that 1st Monday Sale? 1st monday of month??

@laughingdog, the dove I have does not like company, we tried a companion for her 5 years back and she attacked it nonstop, I know its a female as she used to lay eggs but has since stopped. I guess she just likes her space lol, she loves people though. My rescue homing pigeon isnt quite so friendly, makes a kinda growling noise when i feed him but has finally stopped hitting me with his wings. When I got him he was to exhausted to fly and severely underweight in 85 degree weather. He is a very pretty powder blue ish homer.

Yes, BLRW - the blue variety, not the black, one of the chicks MAY be a splash because it's lighter, but I'm thinking it'll be a lighter blue! Can't wait to see the results! None have single combs!

4 of those look like brown leghorn chicks...? What are they? BLRW?

Does anyone in this area have a male netherland dwarf rabbit they would want to stud out? My friend has a female she would like to breed and a dog got her buck the other day.

@bairo, you have to watch out who and what you buy there, as owner and fam/friends are crooked supposedly, and ive had hopefully only "misunderstandings" in past, so best just not to deal with the ones at the barn itself, but there are a few vendors i hang out by and chat with that are decent, though some seem to not know or just keep trackof exactly what they have, which can help or hurt you if you do or dont know exactly what want, and what prices vary from, getting great deals, and even haggling down on great deals to get awsome ones (i always in a group of hens i like, feel and choose the ones already ready to lay and were penned with good roo of kind i may not have had).

@chickie, id love to see a pick of your homer! my homer eggs just hatched today (one shell still sorta mooshy), i think, and have full milk crops already, and seem strong. i think i might be over run with differant types of pigeons i keep after not to long..

still sorta miss the chickens though, and maybe if evver get pigeons set up great again, maybe need to make room for some hens, so i can get some decent sized eggs to eat, though pigeon eggs taste great, and like only whites, but take to long to get a meal. lol

Those babies are adorable!

I have some catching up to do..

@laughing Dog, I'm not really in the market for anything but would like to check it out. Can I meet you guys up there the next one?

@ Stang, WHOOOO-HOOOOO That is 100% so far isn't it? Good looking little things too. And about the battle I lost. Yes I am completely and utterly a Bad *&^.
But the girls gang up on meeeee. They use those darn Puppy dog eyes and of course sleeping on the couch or not! That's why women go to the bathroom together; To plan the coordinated attack on men and sync their watches I guess.

@ new folks....Welcome (in case I missed saying so). We think we have a great little group here and hope that everyone feels welcomed to say or ask anything. Regardless of what Stang says about me and brains (and what the DW says about having an answer for everything) LOL.. I don't and have been taught more from this site than I could ever teach back. We are lucky that the group consist of folks with experience in a wide range of subjects, so you will probably get answers from dif. people depending on what the question is, but it will usually be the right answer :) from experience.

@ person with broody Buff (sorry I forgot who said what already :) Depends on if it is normal sized or Daphne sized ? Ive never had a buff but I would guess probably 5-7. Now that I think of it, wasn't it Daphne that has had a Broody Buff or am I thinking of the Cochin's ? Well anyway if that Buff wont sit them get you a big Cochin for a broody. Daph's would probably sit on a dozen, LOL

@ tnchick721, I did not get that coupon. I was getting the email ones like clockwork every other month and it just stopped out of the blue in December. Did you say Grit or BYP? I missed it I guess.
