Eastern Washington

that is a bourbon red pullet.  Where do you live????  I can come get her if you are in eastern WA.

If I decide not to keep her, I should at least keep her a few days before I give her away...

I thought it was a Jake, but a Jenny makes more sense... Especially since she sits/crouches when you go to pet her...like she would for a Tom... I guess if I start to find eggs in the pen I'll know for sure...wonder if they'd be fertile?

She laid an egg! @pips&peeps you were right! (Not that I had doubts...just excited) I wonder what the chances are that it's fertile? If she was exposed to a Tom in the week prior to me finding her...how many of her eggs will be fertile?

Thank you! I'm new to Washington entirely And its a lot different from California. Double ****!! Unless you sell to good owners and end up having an extra frizzle roo? Otherwise I might have to hatch :)
Welcome! I'm in Finley, just outside of Kennewick...about February I saw some on craigslist locally, I remember because they wanted $25 a chick! Haven't seen any recently though...

Just putting out feelers, would anyone in the area be interested in custom hatching services? Maybe brooding too, for people that don't want to have to deal with dusty chicks indoors?
I've been out of town but I'm back now. I might be able to help you out with hatching, but with some risks... My last hatch attempt was an utter failure. I just recently got an egg turner and fan for my incubator, hoping that my hatch rate will go up. If you have fertile eggs I could give it a shot and see how it goes. I'm in Richland.

Also, welcome to all the new people!! :)

Copied from my intro post...

Hello everyone,

I am new here, so I can't pm too much yet, haha. Anyway, call me Red. I live in Washington, outside of Spokane on about 5 acres of land. I'm 21 years old and live with my fiance and his family while I go to college for a degree in biology. I was recently diagnosed with spinal osteoarthritis and don't leave the homestead as much anymore, due to daily pain. It gets rather lonely out here, seeing as the only other living things are his parents' toy poodle and the wild quail that stop to mooch lunch off of us :)

Loving birds, and especially roosters in particular, brought me to the Serama. To me, they would be the ultimate and ideal chicken pet. They are small, friendly, and still quite beautiful. Seeing as I am a cock afterall (Chinese Zodiac!) and the disheartening fact that so many roosters don't get the love they need, I would love love LOVELOVELOVE to buy someones extra boys. I do not care about weight size colour ect, I just want one of these lovely birds to raise and hopefully I will have a full flock someday.

I already have food and supplies on hand; I am just finishing up on constructing a mobile mini coop the perfect size and specifications for little Serama so that they can go out in the garden with me and not have to worry they will be eaten or go off "exploring" without me staring at them. (I admit I am refurbishing a rolling chicken broiler for this project, but I assure you all components have been removed!!! I just have a sick sense of humor...)

Please reply here or a pm with your email so that we can talk more about the birds :) I am interested in all Serama, with my very very perfect preference being a dark, frizzled cockerel. Thanks so much and I look forward to meeting more Serama enthusiasts!

@littleredwagon I checked my craigslist app, 3 days ago someone in your area posted that they had serama hatching eggs...price was $20...but wasn't clear about how many for that price...I just put serama in the all for sale search bar...good luck...I know you have your heart set on serama, but if you can't find one easily, banties are the next size up and I have a sneaky suspicion a couple of my latest hatch of frizzles are roos...
