I agree but t=chickens are not more important than us they are at the same level

I would save the hen. My friend is perfectly capable of taking care of himself...he may even have to save me and the hen.

I would take a bullet for my family members. Thankfully that only includes people that are worth dying for. I'd hate to have to back up taking a bullet for a chicken or any animal for that matter.

If they found a mated pair of Dodo birds, I still wouldn't take a bullet for them.

I don't think my chickens have any affection for me.  They like the things I provide them but they don't have affection.  They are all instinct.  If I fell over dead, they'd be pecking my eyeballs out within a day or so.

Hmmm, my cat definitely has affection for me but if I fell dead on the floor and she got hungry enough she would snack on me I think...

Alas, most people with "back yard" chickens have a limit to the number that they can keep in an urban or suburban back yard..
