starting a new thread about the behaviour of hens and whether or not they are more or less intelligent than a human calling it are we really superior

defiantly more smug. at lease some of us.

I believe they have emotions, just not to the degree of more intelligent creatures. They know fear, and contentedness. I don't know about empathy for chicks though...I honestly find that hard to believe after seeing the birds around chicks: theirs or any others.

Either way, I find nothing wrong with killing a bird humanely for food, or to put the animal out of misery.
