Economy stinks..how bout some free eggs? PA - WINNERS pg 14

I think I deserve some Lavender project eggs just for trying so hard.I have bid on them everytime and been out bid everytime.I even bid on the ebay and eggbid auctions.I know someone deserves these more than me but I have tried.

I would love some of your eggs! Though I am sure that others are who deserve them more then I. My story in a nut shell is that my anxiety and depression has gotten so bad I can no longer drive. I am doing a new program and feel a bit better this week, so hopefully I will be able to try to get a job soon. My poor husband works hard everyday to support us. He is also supporting my oldest daughter (not his) and her 2 sons so she can finish college. So 7 people with him making $14.50 an hour isn't much. However alot of people are doing alot worse I know. I love all your lavendar birds and the Mottled Orps are looking really good. If you do pick me I will keep all the birds that hatch, and if you tell me what to do I will try and help your breeding project move along. Thanks and you are a wonderful person for doing this. Someone will truly be blessed.

Edited to ad: I have 5 silkies from Jenlynn4. They are so sweet and would love to have a couple more, if I don't get picked for yours. Thanks. Willow

oh, I would have loved some of the lav orps for my marans project but with dh out on disability(employer lied about how much he would get

) and me having to pay for my tuition I had to rehome all of my marans

. They were just food pits especially the 10 cockerals

. I did decide to stick with the ameraucana and araucana lav projects. I would love to have some of your araucana project eggs. Oh, and today is my birthday

. Good luck to everyone

What a generous offer. I would be interested in some of your Pyncheon bantams. I had never heard of them until I checked out your website. They have such a cute, unique look. I would love to add a couple to my flock, but most of all I would like to give some to my "crazy chicken friend" (whom I met via BYC, by the way). She recently suffered a devastating loss while away on vacation. Some heartless person broke into her coop and killed half her flock! She loves collecting all the neat and "crazy-looking" breeds, so the Pyncheons would fit right in.

Thank you for this unique opportunity and good luck to everyone!

I too am fortunate. My DH and I were sitting and drinking coffee the other day and talking about how fortunate we truly were at this point in our lives...but we struggled so hard to get to this point.

I currently have BO's and EE's and some mixed chicks. I enjoy a colorful egg basket. So my next and final breed to hatch will be a hen that lays a dark egg. I'm hoping for some BCM, but will settle with any dark laying hen, cuckoo or other project maran. My hens and chicks are my babies. They're a hobby that pay their rent in beautiful eggs. I share those eggs with my family and friends and those less fortunate at church.

Yes, we are blessed. You will be more blessed too for paying it forward.

Don't want the eggs, just wanted to say this is a wonderful thing. I love all these feel good threads. I just would not be able choose just one person. Good luck to you all!!!

I dont know about deserving them but I am addicted to hatching and love having the new babies around. We have been hatching eggs for a while but just recently got our first shipped eggs due to hatch on the 4th and after that our bator will be empty. We have all been having some rough times here lately and having the eggs in the bator gives us all something to look forward to and gives us something to keep our minds on. I especially love the lavender orps but any breed would be a blessing.
I just want to say that whoever you pick, it is so amazing for you to do something like this. In the tough economic times it is hard to find such generosity. You are truly a great person and you will be blessed.
thank you

Jody, what a thoughtful idea.

It warms my heart to see how many folks are taking stock of how fortunate they are, too. Gosh, this thread is doing so many neat things!

Makes me feel fortuante for being a member!

I would say if I had to choose, I would choose your lav. orps (There absolutly gorgeous, so stunning. You have really done a good job) but I want them, I dont need them, really I dont need anything. Im blessed with what I have, a house, my animals, food, water, electricty, family (sorta, they can be a pain sometimes
wink.png
) and thats all I need. I can shure live without the eggs, but then again once in awhile it would nice to win something for a change. My whole life I was sorta the kid that got picked last in gym class, and if you were ever in that situation you know what it feels like and everything that comes along with it. And heck i've already got both my bators' running, whats there to lose? all's I have to offer right now to you is that, the chicks will have a home thats not going anywhere anytime soon and will have all the necessity's they will need to grow into mature healthy stunning examples of your stock (I would be so proud if I were you to say "I created that") and a loving family that will apperciate the oppurtunity given to then by such a wonderful person such as yourself to have such beautiful birds grace my yard, you really are doing a wonderful thing Jody. I know what it feels like to lose everything at once aswell. We had a fire last year and lost everything all our quality birds (That I spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in chicks, birds, eggs etc,) plus we lost our shed that was 8 feet away from the run, we had recently gotten a brand new $5,000 professional lawn mower a week before that was in that shed (The one we had, had gotten stolen)we also lost all our outside weeding supplys and snow blowers, roofing supplys etc. We never used electricity in our run so we didnt know how it could have started on fire, which baffled me for the longest time, then we remembered our neighbor had threaten the week before if our dog came on his property again he would shoot him and burn all my chickens, the dog was never on his property he was on ours (This guy was an alcholic aswell) when the police went to question him, he dissapeard. The ensurance company never payed us for the damage aswell, because they had nothing nothing to go off of and saying we were over quoting or what not because we had been payed for the lawn mower that had gotten stolen to replace it. This was 3 days after my birthday and a month after my mom had died and just a day before our family business got robbed . We still dont have a lawn mower and a new shed due to the ecomony at the moment. So needless to say I was deeply depressed, I felt like I would lose everyone and everything around me, just at a slow pace. Thank you for this oppurtunity, I would be the utermost happiest person if I were to receive your eggs and would share the wealth as you have in the future.

(Edited to add the rest of my story, I had to go to work so I entered what I had at the moment)

In the short time I have been a part of the BYC "family" I have watched you guys proudly (rightfully so!) announce your projects only to be faced with sometimes scathing criticism. NEVER ONCE have I seen you guys flare back. You have ALWAYS taken the time to answer these criticisms and everyone else's questions with a gentle hand on the keyboard. ANYONE who takes the time to look at your birds and your projects should be able to see that you kinda know what your doing! I know that half the knowledge you possess on genetics and breeding etc. would scramble my feeble brain! And now here you are making this generous... more than generous offer!!
I aspire to be a good BYC'er just like hinkjc!!! The bar has definately been set high!
I would love some "Jody Orps" It would be hard to chose which ones but I suspect the "must haves" project is still young(Jubilee, at any stage.)next choice would be Lav or Porcelein It wouldn't matter to me I know that your birds are ALL beauties and healthy! Now if only they could inherit some of yoursand Charlies' qualities!!!! That would be the PERFECT CHICKEN!

If I were to win your eggs It would definately be the impetus to get off my duff and go buy that bator I have been debating for three months now! Although I'd prolly be terrified of screwing up your eggs!

Edited to fix my finger wedgies (spelling errors!)
