EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Our last one, a 12-13 year old JRT, was partially deaf, eyes clouded over, and had fallen down the stairs numerous times; we knew it was time. We laid him in the mulch of the flower garden in front of the house; the only place I could dig a hole on this rock pile. He loved riding in a car; I carried him along on the paper route 'til I started carrying so many papers there wasn't room for him. Even had a little coat for him to wear in cold weather with the window open.
Awww :(

My daughter has a jacket for her little dog.

She named him Wally (aka Walnut)

He sleeps with her every night, under the covers. I don't know what I would do if something happened to him, she's so in love with him.

Quote: Cute pup, although he ain't doing that shirt any favors. Our Jack carried a perfect arrowhead between the eyes. When he first came here as a 2 yer old he killed a couple of my layers. I managed to impress on him the error of his ways, and he never so much as chased one after that. He'd even follow me into the chicken yard once in a while. I had goats then, and a couple of them had gotten out, and weren't about to get caught. I told Earl (he came with that God-awful name for a dog) to go get them. He got in behind them and headed them in the right direction like he'd been herding goats all his life. Never could get him to do it again

Thanks, 'prechitate it. Ordering one now.

It looks like a fun thing to try, and I might get one, but beware, I don't think that this board is meant to be used in harsh environments, so it might not last very long.

We're gonna find out. How harsh can a basement room be that's heated only by a woodstove on the opposite end of the house and might hit 80* when temp. outdoors is way "up there"?

Sorry, I thought you were gonna stick it in an incubator. :hide

I was wondering if it would hold up to the dust and humidity. May get one to calibrate others but probably wouldn't use it in incubator.

i think the humidity may do some damage to it pretty quick

I got all excited until DH pointed put that it's a development/evaluation board for hardware and software engineers to evaluate and/or develop the sensor, it's not meant to be sold as a "retail" product. It's an unprotected circuit board, with exposed low voltage power traces, so one will need to be careful that they don't short it out by doing something like placing it on a metal desk.

DH also told me that my RCOM has the older version of the sensor, which I thought was interesting.
