EE with brown eggs?

Maxx has problems seeing when he is wrong so all should let it slide. What part of crossbreds with Ameraucana or Araucana blood he doesn't get is ?

Yes, Easter Eggers may have Ameraucana in them, and yes, often people say they're a mix of Ameraucana or Araucana, but NO, in most cases they originate from the colored egg laying mutts we received from South American BEFORE we created the Ameraucana, thus, most Easter Eggers are not simply crosses of Ameraucana and Araucana.

Don't just read what a BYC thread or two says - Research the history yourself. The EE's from hatcheries began, especially from Murray McMurray, before Ameraucanas as a breed existed. That's why such hatcheries still claim to have that name, because it is a way to sell well and associate the seller with a similar breed, avoiding saying "these are actually a mutt."

So again, yes, EEs can have Ameraucana or Araucana in them (but most don't) even I have some Araucana x New Hampshires that are techincally Easter Eggers, but hatchery based Easter Eggers are not crosses of Ameraucana and another breed. That is like saying a Great Dane cross naturally has Dogo Argentino in it. Dogos were made from Danes, but that does not make a Dane related to the Dogo.

Anyway, throwing all that aside, back to the point of this thread (apologies to the OP) - Yes, Easter Eggers may have brown eggs. It is a part of creating green egg layers - You can get some brown in there, as green eggs do not breed true.

This is my EE Goldie. My favorite hen. She lays the palest brown eggs with a heavy bloom which makes them look lighter when dry. My how you all get you knickers in a wad about true americanas. Lighten up

Ok the Ameraucana was breed from the Araucana and the only reason i know that is because i have done my history research. They created the ameraucana because they liked the features of the arau and after awhile they where mixed with others creating the EE. So yes EE's are. A hatchery may breed EE's with eachother what where breed from Either or Ameraucana or Araucana which would mean they still have it in them. Thats like saying someone who has indian in them for ex. 5 gens back isn't indian because its to far back. And this statement makes no sence { That is like saying a Great Dane cross naturally has Dogo Argentino in it. Dogos were made from Danes, but that does not make a Dane related to the Dogo.} Yes they would be related to them if a dogo is breed from a dane. And who would say they have dogo in them if a dogo was made from it. Thats like saying a german shepherd is not related to a wolf.

Take it from experience BYCers. Illia knows more than me too. We both have Ameraucanas (legit) and we have a good background knowledge of the breeds. I still highly disagree.
