Eeeek! Eggs have Arrived

I was just going to ask if that's the one you have. Mine does that too so I started putting a little distilled water, maybe an ounce or two to start with in the B side. It's humid here so not sure why I need to use both before lockdown but whatever works.
I had thought about adding to chamber B to keep it up but I was afraid it’d be to high if I did. I only had the issue last night. I’m going to watch like a hawk until 11-12ish and see what happens and if it starts going down before I go to bed.

Haha! Does humidity affect the pullet/cockerel ratio? I’ve already got a plan🍽️
Your humidity being too high or two low for a few hours isn't the end of the world as it's the overall average that matters. Those eggs take a very long time to change.

That’s what I told my husband because he was panicking(he was NOT raised as a farm kid like I was haha) and I told him since they’ve only been in there a day I doubt it did anything.

No it doesn't, but I have read if you select a more oval shaped egg it has a better chance of getting females vs. an egg with a pointy end.

I actually tested it in late summer and my batch were all females. But I can't totally be confident with this method since I only did 1 batch.

I’ve heard the same. Most of these were fatter eggs. I think I had 1-2 longer skinnier ones. We shall see.

When you start the eggs in the incubator, don't add water to it. Let it settle in there on it's own with the warmth for 3 days. On the 4th day check the humidity and adjust to get it around 45% give or take 2%. And just maintain it till day 18, day 19 bump it to 65% to 70% and maintain till hatch.

I thought that was a wive's tale, but I'll take your word for it since you did get phenomenal ratio there! I pulled an unusually pointy egg today, especially for a silkie to manage when their eggs are smaller to begin with, but thought of that as I was putting it in the carton I'm saving to sell to someone. I'm going to take that one out lol.
