Efowl.com Experience [ OMG :O( ] WTB Call Ducklings

In March, I submitted an order to Efowl.com (wish I had NEVER done this) for

(2) Black Call Ducklings
(2) Grey Call Ducklings Snowy Call Ducklings
(2) Pastel Call Ducklings.


FINALLY, on Monday, April 30th received an email telling me that my ducklings had been shipped. Immediately contacted my post office to inform them.

My ducklings arrived this morning (May 3rd)

2 DEAD Pastels in the box and within an hour of arriving lost (3) Grays.

Mind you, they shipped (1) Black opposed to (2) Blacks and (3) Grays.

According to their "Live Grantee" I am to contact them, which I will and they can send me replacements. What happens if they send me replacements and the same thing happens??????

Have had Silkie Chickens / Chicks shipped to me and not once have the ventilation holes of the box been taped OVER 1/2 way up as they were with these Ducklings - Is this an accepted practice to tape over the ventilation holes of the box?

Needless to say, I am seeking to purchase CALL DUCKLINGS from someone who is REPUTABLE!!!!! If you can help me please feel free to contact me!

. Please browse the Buy Sell Trade Section and you will find plenty of reputable breeders with MUCH better shipping methods.
 
Complain to them and to the post office as well. Tell them about the taped up box. I am wondering if the USPS did that themselves.

The issue may be the post office's fault. They are closing a lot of shipping centers and many people who order from all kinds of companies are having a lot of DOA ducklings and goslings. Your ducklings were in the mail a long time, they shouldn't have taken that long. If they had taken the "normal" amount of time (about two days, three if you live far across the country), they may have survived. See if they can put some "grow gel" in the shipment for you in case it takes that extra day to get to you.

As for not shipping the right order, again, tell them about that, too. That's totally their fault.
 
I ordered my mallard hatching eggs from efowl & everything was OK. The eggs were packed in shipping material that was like Ft. Knox. In fact, I struggled to get them out of the foam! I'm sorry about your bad experience...that's why I got eggs to hatch out myself instead of ordering ducklings. I would hav freaked to open a box with dead babies in it. Hopefully your replacements will get here safe & sound.

call ducklings are extremely fragile and this is why MOST people refuse to ship hatchlings.
EFOWL does not have concern for these things. many people order from them bcuz they are one of the only places that will ship call ducklings.
i am sorry you had a bad experience.
it is irresponsible on EFOWLS part that they ship such fragile chicks.
 
Call ducklings should not be shipped due to how fragile they are.

Also, eFowl is a middle man, and not a hatchery at all. They put your order through to someone else, which is why they have the selection they do... being just a web business.

You're better off trying to get your money back and looking for juvenile ducks shipped express/over night, or finding someone local for ducklings.

Sorry you lost your babies, but that's why hardly anyone will ship call ducklings.
 
3 days is becoming more common with shipping live birds with USPS. Express no longer guarantees overnight, 2nd day is common place with three happening on occasion.

Efowl unfortunately is a joke of a place to order from. Contracted out to locations with the birds they are selling.

As mentioned earlier, call ducks should NEVER EVER be shipped as ducklings.

Get your money back, and look for juveniles in fall when they are safe to be shipped.
