Egg eating problem!

I have 30 hens, no rooster.
we started noticing egg production going down, then noticed eggs
cracked open and the yolk is being eaten.
we can’t figure out what hen (s) are doing this! We are lucky to get one egg a day.
any suggestions on how to figure out who is doing this!

Hmm that’s a tough one. This happened to me, so I picked a weekend and collected eggs every 30 minutes, then collected twice a day after that. I also added thick bedding in the nesting boxes so the eggs are not falling on the floor and breaking. You could install a camera ?

I just saw a video of someone filling eggs with mustard and putting them back. Claims it fixed the problem

Pick up eggs much more frequently. Use more fakes as they don't get rewarded with egg innards when they peck at them. Try a roll out nest box.

I just saw a video of someone filling eggs with mustard and putting them back. Claims it fixed the problem

can you send a link to that video, it tell me how you fill them with mustard!

I punched a hole in each end of egg and blew egg out. Then enlarged hole slightly and used a syringe (without needle) and filled egg with mustard. 1 egg had a fairly large hole, I just put a squeezable container of mustard on hole and filled. My mustard eggs were to stop my egg eating dog. It worked

So where do I get fake eggs?

Golf balls are the easiest option, you can buy a pack for very cheap and the birds still see them as eggs despite the shape and dimpling.

Most ppl on you tube said mustard doesn’t work, I found the solution. I bought egg roll out nests! Now chickens can’t eat the eggs because they roll into a covered area!
