Thanks, gals...I'm just over the moon!! Truth be told I almost cried after ALL the work building the coop and run and all the other stuff that goes with....yikes! No egg so far today, but it's still a bit early for her!

Yeah, congrats! So exciting! 4 of my 7 pullets are now laying - 3 are holding out for better wages I guess. LOL

To me having chickens is more like having pets. They are so darn cute it amazes me. And to all of your emotions that goes with it, amazes me too, I'm beginning to respond with emotion also.

2nd day, 2nd egg. IN a nest box this time. I set up the boxes yesterday and voila I was rewarded this morning.

and the two oldest are singing their hearts out.
