Egg Song! Glorious Egg Song!

I have two EE's (Jane & Geraldine) & two Golden Laced Wyndottes (Betty & Dorothy). One of my GLW's has been 'squatting' around me a lot lately but I wasn't sure what she was doing. Then yesterday I found 2 yolks in the nesting box. No shells. All four ladies's Hatchday is April 9th. I've been on Egg Watch for weeks now. I haven't noticed anyone sing the Egg Song yet though. I guess any day now I should expect eggs? So excited! I love my girls!!! I treat them like my babies & they run to me when they see me & follow me everywhere. They've even tried to get in my car with me!

YAY! My last pullet that I've been waiting for to lay has finally caught up to everyone else and laid her first egg! I got so excited when she started squatting. I felt like I was waiting forever! But now I have 10 new babies that just hatched over the last week to wait for lol

From what I've read on BYC, it seems they laid rubber eggs. Apparently it happens from time to time with chickens just starting to lay &/or may need more calcium. I'm going to up their calcium intake & see what happens.

O goodness, yes I know how you feel , strange things do go on in the coop when we are not looking

.....lol.... we have one NHR that buried the eggs she finds in the nest boxes, but at other times she just pushes the eggs she finds right out of the nest boxes onto the floor, and she broke an egg already by doing that , geezzzz, so we had to re build the nest boxes to stop that hen from rolling the eggs out onto the floor, and now, I have to sift all through the nest box hay & wood shaving looking for eggs o yeah gosh i just love doing that.....lol.... geezzzzz

I thought they might have pushed the fake egg out of the nest, but then we couldn't find it in the coop. The run is built below the coop, so it would be easy to simply knock it down the pophole - except the egg isn't in the run either.
So... did they push it out of the nest and down the ramp and out of the run and into the garden? Did a magpie steal it?
