Egg stuck in membrane outside vent. Help!

Egg is stuck outside hen in a bloody membrane. We have soaked in warm water and lubricated. Should we cut the membrane?

Do you see an opening where the egg would normally pass through? I don't think it's advised to cut that because it's difficult for that to heal.

There is no visible opening and the egg is completely out of her but stuck in this sack.

If you can find the natural opening, then yes I'd lubricate there. Try to keep her calm (I know that's a lot easier said than done) because she's going to contract her muscles and tense up making it more difficult to get the egg out

I'm sure someone will be along very soon to advise. I wouldn't cut anything though unless someone with experience says to. So her vent isn't prolapsed?

There is a vet willing to look at her in the morning but not sure she will last the night????
