They normally hatch pretty quickly...well...actually, while you are waiting it seems like forever...walk and look see a pip...walk away for a lil bit....they are out lol

Well, this morning when I checked, I noticed the humidity has gone up. Thats a sign of imminent hatching, right?
Ack. I know they arent "due" until Thursday but I keep looking to see if that "pip" has made progress.

This is the tough part of incubating something you havent succeeded at before, you keep second guessing.

Oh, I wont be on here much, if at all, this morning but will check back this afternoon.

Good morning!
I slept in 'til 9am today!
Then I went straight down to the 'bator... and... 3 pips!
It's day 20 for the MF cochins. I put all 13 into lockdown & have 3 pips!!!! HOORAY!!
I am so hoping for a good hatch. I can't wait to see what the chicks look like.
I turned off the turner to the eggs due to hatch on Friday, but I left them there, up in the turner. I don't want to mess up this hatch. These eggs are doing so well. Excellent egg fertility, Fancbrd4me! I hope I get some good ones!

Congrats!!!! I am interested in what those cochins will look like as well.

I must have "the sky is falling" mentality because nothing else in the guinea incubator yet.

Been turning the button quail eggs three times a day and keeping my fingers crossed.

I am getting some more duck eggs from Tattoo and chicken eggs from Cloverleaf, plus a couple others.(Polish,Barnvelders,Lakenvelders) Hopefully some Ancona duck eggs. Will update as they arrive.
I just cleaned out brooders this morning and cant believe how friendly my ducks are. To ME anyway. I guess I am mama.
They treat my daughter like she is the worst monster ever....
In the big chick brooder, the friendliest one is what I believe is a leghorn. Any time a chick pecks my daughter, she picks it up and carries it around for a while.
Whats funny is this leghorn gets as close as she can and stands patiently WANTING to be picked up.

OMG... don't you just love the ducklings!
They're my little groupies! They follow me around the house & when I stop, they just wander around my feet!
We're in the afternoon of day 20 and I have 7, yes 7, pips so far on the MF eggs!
C'mon chickies!!!

Well, I'm up to 8 pips, but no progress past pipping.
I guess I'll be staying up late tonight.
Better make some coffee...

I've missed my last couple hatches due to work & being out of town.
I'll be up cheering these chick on!

So far 2 cochins have hatched, one is zipping, and all but 3 have pipped.
