Well, I got 11 chicks.
The last 2 never pipped. When I opened them, they were both in odd positions.
One was folded in "half" with it's head tucked between it's legs under the yolk sac.
The other was positioned well... at the wrong end of the egg.
Not sure why that happened. They were all big-end-up in the turners. Hmmm..... ?

I am glad you got those to hatch!

As far as the other two, who knows???

Well. Still nothing on the guinea eggs, I was mistaken and there I was so excited.

But I definitely make my share of mistakes.
They are due tomorrow. I am nervous because, as I have said, I have YET to incubate guinea eggs successfully.

Not giving up, but it is a bit discouraging because I am so careful with them.
Paganbird, what do those mille fleur cochins look like?

The other 5, I'll have to wait until some feathering comes in to see what they'll look like.
I think mottled cochins are pretty, too.
Right now thay look like little ancona duck-chicks. LOL!

Well, today is day 20 for my CrescentWood & Chickenzoo eggs. I put 30 into lockdown... I'm only counting 29, though. One is a huge double-yolker that I couldn't see into when I candled.
Mags - how are those guineas coming?

Nada.Nothing.Zilch. I just dont get it. I have had success at about everything else, sometimes poor but at least hatching a couple.
Why cant I hatch GUINEAS??? I dont want to give up but its discouraging.

Sigh...on to something else. I am supposed to get more ducks this week. Next week, mixed SF eggs from Cloverleaf, black cochin bantams, polish and ancona duck eggs.

Oh,havent got presales yet of course.(again, pilgrim geese, blue bibbed call ducks, chocolate pheasants, texas blue scaled quail.)
I also have some OEGB eggs (two sets) coming. One silver laced and one assorted.

Mags - Maybe you could get some guinea eggs locally and give them a try, or have you? Maybe they just don't take to shipping so well?

You are probably right....if I knew someone who had guineas locally, I will have to do a search.
Its just so darned frustrating.
Oh, I forgot about adding the peacock eggs to my presale list. Now with those, I am going to try but wont feel so awful if I dont succeed right away because a lot of people have trouble with those in an incubator.
