EGGS ARE HERE! Prepare yourself for the next 21 days *DAY 21 PICS*

Well, the weather has been warm the last few days. I've been painting my chicken coops that I've sold. Finally got a few nice days to do it. So, I haven't been able to stand over the incubator, but so far all looks good. I'm glad I don't have to tweak the thermostat any more, or turn the eggs every few hours. Sure is a lot easier to get stuff done

LoneCowboy, best of luck on this hatch. Hatching via the forum is the closest I can get right now. I'm not set up for winter hatching, no place for babies after they hatch. I'll be coming tab on these little guys! Grow, babies, grow!!!

Ok, tomorrow is officially day 7. I did a little prelim. candling to see if my candler would work better. Good news and bad news.

Good news: I've finally seen veins. Yep Speckledhen, I really saw them. Not really well, but I've seen them.

Bad news: I've now seen a blood ring, and lots of clear eggs. I'm hoping I'm just a horrible candler and that they aren't really clear

I also have a cracked egg that is developing. I think I read somewhere that I can fix that with wax. I might try that.

I think I'll wait until day 10 and do a real good candling job and take down notes, egg no. and info then.

Ok, it's day 13. Yeah, I know I'm supposed to wait to candle till day 14, but if I have to be patient for 21 days the very least I can do is candle a day early.

So, I finally got brave and culled out the bad eggs

15 went in the trash, and still have 18 in the bator. I even saw some of them move!! I think they were Barred Rocks. I can see those critters being curious even before they hatch

Thanks to our wonderful US Postal service, only 3 of BamaChickens remain. They had to have X-rayed or something. Because they all came out of different breeding pens, and they showed up clear. She always has good eggs, so that's the only thing that it could be. Not the bator either, because the other ones I got are all alive. So, I'm going to give hers another shot and hope they route them a different way next time.

15 of the buff orp, barred rocks and mix are still with us. Only culled 2 of those. Even the cracked egg is developing just fine. So I'm down to the home stretch, Monday we go into hatch mode, and I go into IBW mode.

I am hoping you get those to hatch. I hatched two really pretty blue orps today and one buff. One black needed a little help and i was a bit late. I Think I have some hatching close to yours. I put them in on the Jan 3rd
