EGGS ARE HERE! Prepare yourself for the next 21 days *DAY 21 PICS*

Hey D,
I've been wondering how the hatching was going and just found this thread. I'm anxious to hear and to see (pics

) of the little peeps when they get here. I know there was a woman in Golden trying to get rid of some hens this last week that are laying age. Her ad was on Craigs. In fact there's been a few ads on there of people around Co. thinning their flocks or whatever it is they're doing. One guy was just getting out of it all together and he's out east somewhere I think. Oh well, good luck in the IBW zone.

I saw the ad yesterday morning and went to look for it last night, and it was gone. They were only 8 months old too. Not to horrible. The other side of the coin is, that I don't want to be so worried about egg production that I forget how fun they are. I could get 20 Red sexlinks and have great production, but then I'd miss out on Orpingtons, Wyandottes, EEers and the rest of the chickens of the world. So I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do. I'd like to make enough on my chicken stuff to pay for them so I can justify having them too.

Got the eggs moved over yesterday. I had trouble with the humidity, but finally got it up to 70 last night. Nothing is happening. No pips or peeps yet.

I decided to move the kitty litter box out of that room. I could just see the chicks start hatching in the middle of the night, and our cat, George, discovering them. It could have gotten really ugly. He's kind of a terrorist kitty anyway. So all systems are good to go. If I just need to be patient now.

Lonecowboy, I just wanted to let you know that I've been checking this thread daily, and especially loved when you moved from day 17.5 to 18! LOL

Yes, it's a little intence around here. DH just thinks I forgot to take my anti-anxiety pill.

Speaking of which, he just gave me a heart attack. He went in and looked at the bator and said "I thought the humidity was supposed to go up now." I said it did, it's up to 70%. He said, "it says 23"

I proceed to freak out and find that he's reading the hygrometer that is sitting outside the bator, the one with the probe into the bator for temp only. I showed him which one to look at, and now I'm waiting for my heart rate to return to normal.

Ok, going to bed. Day 19 is over and still...... NOTHING. I know it's still early, but is it too much to ask for 1 or 2 of them to do a little rocking action or something? Not asking for much, just a little assurance.
