We were originally going to just have them sent up to us but when we went to have a look at the chickens the guy said that he gets his mother to take up eggs for him when she visits him, with no problems. He also said that the scanner doesnt hurt the eggs but I didn't want to risk it and just got the people to hand check the eggs. At the Tasmanian airport it was a lot easier and the lady that was checking the eggs actually breed silver laced wyandottes, so that made things easier. at the Melbourne airport though they thought I was insane and were all saying that I had to put them through the scanner but one guy came along and asked what was happening he got it ( it was about time somebody did ) and was saying to everyone, Theyre going to hatch, you know, chickens. Then they all thought he was crazy too. But after checking them with a magnet thing and with something that checks if they were explosive they finally let us through.
