Kitty.....We all followed this thread for you and for ourselves. Do you have any insight as to where the hatch went south? For those of us still invested in our skillets, do you have any ideas about what we should be on the lookout for?
Thanks everyone. I have read threads all winter on incubating so I know I prepared as well as I could, it just had to be something small that I missed or that happened. I did have a temp spike of 104 but I don't think it was for long and I have read enough threads of others that have had it happen and they still have at least some chicks hatch. Thinking back through it all and going over my notes but, I'm not sure what it maybe.
My next batch is set in the Brower I recieved but the skillet will be on stand by. Depending on how the hatch in the Brower looks when I candle I may end up with a staggard hatch and in need of a second bator. There is a possiblity of some turkey eggs showing up later too!
How are your guy's hatches looking? One possiblity I'm worried about that could have gone wrong would be is the vent letting in enough air? Maybe try putting a coin or something under one end to let more air flow? I'm just not sure what happened.

Yes, we had fun along the way. I'm not totally retireing the skillet bator. It will be cleaned and ready to put back into use as needed. I just can't see letting the Bower sit when DH really wanted me to have a regular bator. If I didn't have it I would reset eggs in the skillet and actually was waiting for the skillet hatch to finish so I could set the ones in the Brower in the skillet!
For those of you with eggs going in the skillet, I have started another thread for results. Many have hatched in a skillet and I'm sure mine isn't a result of the skillet and just something that happened. If you could, please, post your results at the link below so we can keep track of them. Even if you only used the skillet part time.
