Emergency! Babies in storm drain! Update: They are safe!

Pics
Security said he was gonna write up a report and all this, took a picture of my ID from work. Ugh, all I wanted was to help them and he was looking at me like I was some kind of crazy lady... maybe I am. But I got them out.
OMG, that is fabulous. Thank you for sticking with it.
If something happens with your job. Show them this thread. If that doesnt help, find a local news station. The hospital won't want the publicity of punishing someone for saving lives. Even of animals.

@Raenh deserves most of the credit. She got them out while battling a wannabe cop. If we were closer(an hour and a half each way) the battle would have been different. I don’t think he would have treated a man that way and second, there would have been three people calling local tv stations. My wife is good at that. When we were flooded a few years ago the cable company wanted to charge us 500 dollars for the boxes. One call to TV station took care of that. Also, all that was on the news that week was the damage and clean up of the well to do neighborhood a mile away. Our trash and construction material were piling up here. The snakes were all in it. They aired an interview of my wife Friday evening. By noon Saturday all trash was picked up.
You both are amazing people. Thank you both for caring so much! This world could use a whole bunch more like you two. Specially in the town this happened. Thank you both again. Sure hope the babies continue to do well and the mother doesn't lose any more.

Congratulations on your awesome rescue! I'd definitely call a TV station and get this out there for awareness. I'm sure this isn't the only grate that is in the area with ducks hatching. Thank you both for the dedication and decency you have to save those little ducks.

I know why the grates have to be so big but something needs to happen to make them safer maybe just in the spring when ducks are always hatching. I can't think how that could harm anything!

I do not see them changing anything about the grates. Even though it’s about the farthest part of Houston Metro away from the coast, it was also heavily flooded by Harvey and that was a year after another flood.
