just found 2 crushed eggs under my broody. They are on day 20. 1 is clearly already dead. One is alive and peeping. I cleared alway some of the crushed shell, oiled the membrane with coconut oil and made an impromptu heating pad. Now how do save it?

Best thing to do is try to keep everything as moist as possible and keep the chick in the egg at at least 95 degrees. I'm not seeing a lot of active veins in the membrane which is good. With how much shell was knocked off, can you see the yolk at all and if the chick is still absorbing it?
The entire shell is in little adhered bit or gone. I don’t see any yolk but I am totally new at this.

Here are more pics

Will it be able to hatch on its own? With no shell for leverage?
It might but it will dry out quickly. if the veins are down without blood you can take it out. Watch the umbilical spot in the stomach though. It might not have absorbed the yolk yet.

Do you think the broody was trying an assisted hatch for you?

I see very little veining. I am going to try to remove some of the dry membrane around it’s head
