When I went out to check on my chickens one of the hens was laying on the ground almost wedges into the corner, couldn’t see her head. I was sure she had died so my fiancé went into the run to get her but when he went to pick her up she made a noise. She’s still alive!! I lifted her up and carried her to our garage. I now have her separated in a large dog crate with food and water. He head is bloody but doesn’t seem to be bitten by a large animal although it would be VERY odd to me that the other chickens pecked her considered she’s one of the top dogs!! She’s drinking water and is able to stand up but hasn’t moved other than that. She seems very weak and low energy. I cleaned her wound with vetricyn and put some neosporin on. Is there anything else I can do to nurse her back to health?!? Should I go get electrolytes for her water?? Any ideas on what happened?!

any Roosters?

I’d give some electrolytes. Maybe some scrambled egg as well.
I do have one rooster but I’ve never seen him be violent! There’s only a couple of hens who are the most docile that he is able to mount. All the other dominant hens usually tell him off.
I’ll try the eggs and get some electrolytes thank you!

Top girl or no, someone for her good.

After she’s had a bit of time to calm down, get her out and use a washcloth and using soap and water, clean the wound well.

Please rephotograph from all around after she’s cleaned up.
Then apply the neosporin (non-painrelief kind) twice daily.

Keep this wound clean and moist while healing.

My rooster isn't violent either but he tried to breed one of the hens by grabbing her comb. It made her bleed. Maybe he did that to yours and everyone seen the blood and started pecking it. Did you check everyone's beaks?

Here’s how she is looking today, her skin seems to get less red everyday which I assume is good. I noticed some green bruising around her face today. I’m cleaning it and applying neosporin twice a day. I’m also giving her Asprin water and antibiotics. She is eating and drinking but seems very alert. She is not walking through which really concerns me. She is able to stand up but then just plops back down. I’ve checked her legs and everything seems fine. I’m not sure if she’s unable to walk due to low energy or maybe some nerve damage?! I’m really hoping she can make a full recovery
