*Emergency* *large* stinking* wound* PLEASE HELP!! Gave Her a Bath

There is a Bad wound on our chicken it is stinky and ouzing badly has maggots!

Is there any Thing we can do for her?

Its about as big as My Fist

Please Help

I'm in the middle of the same issue.

Bout size of my fist, and crawling with bunch of creepy crawlys.

The first day I used bout 2 quarts of peroxide, and water to rinse. Cleaned the bulk, but still had maggots. So day two I bought SWAT it is a fly repellent made for wounds. Bought it at the local Co-op, it is an ointment. It is like it has an insecticide in it also. It worked like a champ. after bout 12 hrs. no more maggots. Since then I neosporin daily, and she has been in recovery cage in house for two weeks now. Healing well. and recovering good.

Put vitamins in water, and make sure it is eating and drinking. Feed anything it will eat, treats, yogurt, anything for calories, and moisture. Has to stay hydrated.

Good luck, treat wound, but make sure it is eating and drinking.

I had no hope for mine, but she is doing great after 2 weeks.
