Emergency Rooster lathargic and laying on his side

Gosh, I'm so sad hearing this. How devastating.

This may be an off the wall question, but in the photo you posted of your rooster, his left leg looks like it has some bruising or swelling on the ankle and up the front. Do you recall if this was dirt? The discoloration stood out to me right away.

Are you having a necropsy done on him?

I don't recall having ever read about white nasal discharge. I'm very curious as to what happened, and again I'm truly heartsick for you and am praying for your entire flock.

I was wonder if you noticed if you had any more sick? I have lost 1 chicken, 1 rooster, and a female duck now. The rooster is the one I noticed with the same symptoms as yours. My chicken was died when we got home from out of town. My duck showed no signs of really being sick and she was gone this afternoon. I had poop tested and it was negative for parasites. I have caught 3 roaming chickens and will be taking them into the vet tomorrow. I hope your flock is ok.

Sorry for the late update.... The rest of the flock seems to be doing ok... My other Rooster is still coughing and sometimes i hear a gurgling sound. I am giving each bird 1.2-1.5 cc Tylan 50 two times a day with the exception of yesterday evening since i had a commitment that didn't let me treat them. I started the Tylan on Thursday, How long should i keep doing this remedy? Also any thoughts on the gurgling?

Five days is the usual length of treatment with Tylan. Gurgling is usually from mucus in the airway. If you should lose him, it would be helpful to get a necropsy to identify the disease through your state vet.
