Emergency...suspected thrush/ Canker...copper sulphate??

I'm pretty sure canker and thrush are the same thing. Thanks for the info about the Nystatin, I saw that somewhere before but couldn't find where to get it.
I ordered thrush medicine from Peter Brown the Chicken Doctor (www.firststatevetsupply.com). Not sure what's in it.
Canker, also called frounce, is Trichomoniasis. According to the AAAP Avian Disease Manual, treatment is 30mg/kg metronidazole once a day for 5 days. You can buy metronidazole as Fish-Zole (250mg metronidazole tablets) or Meditrich (100mg metronidazole tablets).

Thrush is yeast and is treated with antifungals like Nystatin.

I am such an idiot but I have been screwing around with this for weeks and now it's an emergency and of course this is one of my favs. OUr Golden Pencilled Hamburg hen has thrush, I'm sure. She developed a lethargy and was gulping a couple of weeks ago and we treated her for Coccidiosis, and dewormed her because someone suggested that might be the problem, because we'd had a few chickens with cocci. Miss Cluck Cluck improved after five days on the cocci med, or so I thought, and we let her out, and I went on vacation. Just got back yesterday and the symptoms are back and I finally said hmmm I need to check her mouth and of course she has the classic thrush lesions and her breath is awful. At this point she is quite weak but still trying to eat and drink. What should I treat her with and if I have to order meds, what I can I do for her in the meantime???? We have never had this problem before....! I would rather not take her to the vet for obvious reasons but I don't want her to die, so If I have to I will. Anyone??????

I am just KICKING MYSELF because in the back of my mind all this time I was thinking that might be it, but we were rushing around trying to leave and I just never had time to check her out the way I should have! I am so flipping MAD at myself!!!!!

White in color lesions would indicate thrush. I've never dealt with it. Canker is yellowish or necrotic looking with a foul odor. Birds infected w/ canker are carriers for life.

I've got a couple more that look like that, so I'm going to try giving them massive doses of metronidazole to see if it works this time. Dawg, you remember that rooster I had that I suspected had canker? Well he did end up dying, even after massive doses of metronidazole. So we'll see what happens with these new ones. Good thing I have tons of metronidazole, lol.

OK, well I stand corrected. I called Peter back and he said yeah it is canker and that's what he sent me the medicine for. I hope it works. :(

Where'd you get it? I heard you can get it in petstores but I have never been able to find it anywhere except on line. That's probably what he's sending.

I've never seen it at a pet store, but a fancy tropical fish store *might* carry it. We bought two forms of it - Meditrich (100mg tablets) and Fish-Zole (250mg tablets). It's common in pigeon, so if you have any pigeon breeders in your area, you could ask them if they have any.

Wet pox also smells and according to Dawg53, so does canker ( I think he said it does, but you should ask him). I had one that had a secondary yeast infection (confirmed by UC Davis necropsy), but it didn't smell, nor did I see any lesions... not saying it doesn't smell, just saying that with mine I didn't notice anything abnormal.

Does it look like this?

yeah, kind of. It's yellow and smells like rotting flesh sort of. Or a bad infection. Maybe I can get a picture later.
