Emergency...suspected thrush/ Canker...copper sulphate??

I've never seen it at a pet store, but a fancy tropical fish store *might* carry it. We bought two forms of it - Meditrich (100mg tablets) and Fish-Zole (250mg tablets). It's common in pigeon, so if you have any pigeon breeders in your area, you could ask them if they have any.

WEll, I already ordered it so it should be here soon. I didn't spend a lot of time looking.

So for what it's worth I learned from another person who knows that you can put iodine on the lesions. You soak a qtip in the iodine, Worth trying.

I couldn't find iodine. Oral iodine should be 3% to 4%. All the store has is Betadine. don't think that will work. someone else suggested a combination of 1 drop clove oil to 30 drops coconut oil, a couple of drops down the hatch every day. Antimicrobial, and goes all the way down....seems more natural to me...

Sodium benzoate or benzoic acid also works on yeast. It's been used in parakeets who are plagued with yeast infections as a substitute for amphotericin B. Half to one teaspoon per liter of drinking water. There's a published paper for anyone who's interested.

You can find it on eBay. Local wine/beer brewing stores may have it as well.

We are giving her the canker medicine and though it seemed to help at first she is still very ill. The smell and yellowish material in her mouth is gone, it no longer looks necrotic,
but she has whitish material all over the floor of her mouth, slimy saliva, and is sort of drooling fluid. Also is developing some rattly breathing, I guess from all the
fluid. We were told to put 1/4 tsp of copper sulphate per gallon in her water, but that stuff scares me. We have tried organic ACV (which does help) and Oxine too..not at the same time.
She is still eating pretty well but sleeping a lot. Does the copper sulphate work? I am worried that there might be stuff in it that is not good for her. Also I have read that overuse
of the canker medicine can cause balance issues? At what point should we give up? I hate to give up yet, she is still fighting, but I don't want her to suffer....

If someone can let me know about the copper sulphate asap please because I put it in her waterer this evening for the first time.
The feed store suggested some that is actually root killer, they also have the hoof bath kind, it all seems to be basically the same
stuff.
