Does anyone know the answer for a question I have:

Some of the eggs may be further developed then others, so how would I start lockdown? If I start it on day 17 to accommodate the further developed eggs would that hurt the ones not as far along? It might be the difference between 1-2 days?

I have put eggs into lockdown on day 17 because I had silkies with them in the incubator and they have been fine. If they were all put in the incubator on the same day then do lockdown on day 18 but if some are a day older than you can put them all into lockdown on day 17 and it should't hurt the other eggs but its best to put them in lockdown at the proper time.

They were all in there at the same day. So i will just do day 18

Alrighty everyone here is the final check before lockdown. I won’t be taking any eggs out before lockdown, but I’m almost positive two are quitters. Lockdown will be Day 18 - June 5th!

**note** I put in the Good category but it’s on the line. So just be aware.

I traced the air cell in all the eggs and at lockdown I’ll make sure it’s gotten bigger and make a guesstimate pip location.

is a designer breed- a proprietary cross with an Ayam and some other breed to create Ayam’s that lay blue eggs. I’m very hopeful for a healthy hatch but also for a hen from that one.

But I also have some chicks of the same breed I am picking up tomorrow! I’ll post a pic of them when I get them here.
