Well guys sadly....no pics for a while....at least till we go for a visit. With me being sick with the flu along with everyone else in the house "Emula" went to live with our friends. She is doing very well with them. I have just been to sick to give her the attention she needed. Much like a puppy...she likes to go for walks. Soooo....I'll get a pic when we go to visit.

Take care of yourself and family.

DH & I got that nasty flu bug last month. We are still fighting it.
It just doesn't seem to want to go away. We even had to pay a neighbor kid to come and care for our animals for over a week because we couldn't get up to do it. We lost a few baby rabbits because of it, and our horses lost some weight, but everybody is recovering along with us.

We couldn't get anybody else to take care of the animals, and he didn't really know how to do it with us giving him instructions through a closed door. We didn't dare let him in to talk to him, we didn't want to spread the flu. This is a nasty bug, and I'm glad you found someone to take the emu chick while you are so sick. (She) will be fine with her foster parents until you get better.
Get lots of rest and don't try to do too much too soon, or you will have a re-lapse.

Take care
Jean

Jean it has been super nasty you are right. My husband came down with it on friday, my DD on saturday, and then me on Sunday. We are still fighting with it. It was VERY hard to try to take care of everyone while sick. The Emu will be a permanent resident at her new home.

I didn't realize just how attached to her I was until our friends came to pick her up. She is just like a puppy and I had to do the right thing for her. She needed attention and being sick I wasn't able to give her what she needed at the moment. I tell you I cried like a BABY! I NEVER thought I would have been so attached to an emu...a bird for goodness sakes!. I don't usually get very attached to my chickens and what not but she has a special place.

Jean hope you all get well soon too!
