Besides, if you want one then hatch an emu! You're the one who said her DH would have a herd of purple cows if you hatched an emu.

I only have about an 1/8-1/4 acre that I could fence for something little...(the rest of the free space is my chicken run and the people yard and garden) Not very much running room!

I'd love to see some more pictures!

They don't really require the space that it would seem. They do like to run, for a few minutes or so, springing in the air etc..but most of the time they are walking on their hocks across the ground looking for goodies or sunbathing with the chickens...that is until you decide to start an outside project, then they are on you like white on rice trying to eat your wood nails! LOL They do require worming like chickens and also a Westnile & EEWE shot like horses. Other than that and a little food they do great and are pretty easy keepers if you have a fence high enough to keep them, or raise them not to jump. They also LOVE the water. I can just picture my duck pool with them in it and a call duck sitting on their head! Many people are afraid of them, so it does scare off any strangers.

Ohhh, my dad just came to town about a week ago and brought me some Kinderschoko! I already ate the whole pack. I'm such a pig.
