I think most of us use Zoogen DNA Services

for emu eggs you only need to send in a decent sized piece of the membrane (I just tear off a big chunk with all the gooey goodness on it.. let it dry good first though!).. just make sure you don't touch it with your bare hands (contamination risk)
I use disposable medical gloves then place the sample in a ziploc bag

When my african grey parrot got to meet her the parrot started doing the baby emu whistle to her...

at least I don't think she's an emu!

I would call her DeeOhGee or D-O-G. I love that name

It is just saying the letters together as a word

It's funny when you call the Vet to make an appointment and say the dog's name is D-O-G they ask you to spell it out LOL

My first Emu hatched at 12:09am. I was on the computer and I kept hearing scratching and had no clue what it was then I heard the shell hit the door of the incubator LOL Here are some pictures:

The shell pieces I put on the scale and they came to 69 grams and I found a few more pieces so I would say about 70 grams total for the shell. I wonder if she is the smallest to be born LOL She fits in the palm of my hand LMAO!
