I tried it on both of my eggs. One of them, the one which has been incubating for four days longer than the other one, is making the high pitched "tlink" sound when i tap it with the metal on the sides. The ends give a more low pitched sound. Where there is the air bubble, the sound is like a hollow tap. I let it roll to the position it wanted to stay and placed it back in the incubator. The other one hasnt sounded, so i turned it again like i always did...
Should i remain hopeful just on the fact that there are no bad smells?

Lol.. we are always hopeful
Usually a rotten egg that sounds will lay whichever way you lay it because the membrane will have pulled away from the shell.. so it's like a water balloon full of rotten egginess inside the egg
I would be more hopeful if the eggs had been wiggling up a storm. But I won't rule out an egg as being bad unless it is beyond any doubt.
