Wow, those videos are awesome. And the info is great......I noticed in one video that Gerry the Emu was out in an unfenced yard. So they imprint enough to not run away? That's cool cuz we have 3 acres so it will be fun to see them run around.....thanks for your help. I just turned my eggs and 3 of the 4 are rocking like crazy. In fact one almost rolled off the table. Day 44.......and 5 days to go.Right with you on that one! Otherwise the kid would have disappeared into the computer and never come out It has really brought out his gentle side. He treats our chickens like puppies! Speaking as a complete Newbie, these are the things that have helped me the most! I've read Yinepu's summary about 20 times now. It has the answers to all the questions that came up in my mind so far. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/emu-hatch-2013 I bought a used copy of this Got mine for about $ 20 and worth every penny!! (Does have some TMI -- I really didn't need to know about artificial insemination... ) AND....Here's the absolute best You Tube vids I've found.Gerry the Emu (vid by Raptor -- Gerry is about 1 yr old now) This vid is pretty much what converted me...Baby Emu learns to eat and drink (vid by Raptor again -- this year's chick!)Australian Emu from Egg to Adult (Fred's Fine Fowl -- good summary of what they do at the different ages)Crazy Emu Dance Our own Supreme Emu said that this is the best captive emu habitat he has seen. It's nice to have a place where we can "speak emu". My husband is getting really tired of the whole topic
