English Shepherd as Poultry Guardian

Another pup. Great Pyrenees cross with Australian Shepherd. Female. Will be imprinted on sheep and goats.

Picture in my previous post. She is only 6-weeks old. She will be given extensive interaction with male pup and adult females to ensure good social skills. Last night she slept with kids since we are on road.

Pup (Peanut) has been introduced to Bugger (Changed from Bandit), Honey and Pup Pup. Peanut is having anxiety issues and got picked on a little bit by Bugger. We will be working with her a lot over next couple weeks to complete integration into pack before starting to house her with sheep and goat. In the end I want her strongly attached to the livestock so they will stay together with minimal roaming when herd moved to paddocks on far side of property.

We saw a male Coyote with full tummy run across road about 1/2 mile from house.

We also got rabbits now. Some for pets and some for eating. I love rabbit. Dogs must learn not to try and destroy pens trying to get at rabbits.

We tried rabbits for a bit. They ended up being too much work, and too hard to butcher. Who knew something so adorable could be so smelly.

Our latest critter addition has been geese. They run with my goats, and they definitely let you know when something is amiss.

What breeds did you get? We had New Zealand and Harlequin mainly

The meat rabbits are black although I do not know if they represent a breed. The pet is a Mini Rex male. He'll be in the house.
