English Shepherd as Poultry Guardian

I think any dog can be trained. Training is the most important part. Yesterday I had lunch with my husband at a store deli. We bought chicken strips. Afterwards we had 3 chicken strips left over. We wanted to shop at the store and not carry our chicken strips around. I brought the strips to the car set them on the front seat. My dog was in the back seat. I told him "No steal" and walked away. We shopped for a few items, and came back and he didn't touch the chicken strips as told. For a treat, for being good, I gave him a bite of a strip.

I don't really see pit bull, but it looks as if his front legs might be bowed a bit. Is that what you mean about his legs being spread, Centra? Might want to have him checked for elbow dysplasia.

I had major problem with photographs and not just with uploading. He has no health issues. He is simply a barrel-chested and round muzzled dog. Ears also not typical for what I see with English Shepherds which are variable anyway.

He doesn’t look pit bull to me either and I have half pit so I do know the look. Have you considered DNA testing to be sure before rehoming? Especially if he’s such a good dog. Embark tests for English Shepherds now.
