Ernie has a problem *GRAPHIC PICS*Not Good News

If this is a staph infection like in Bumblefoot then you need to scrape the black scabs off and clean out the cheesy pus. It is not runny like ours is, is like a cheesy substance and is more solid than liquid. I had to squeeze the bumble area and get the junk out of the area. I would think that with it being that sized that you can maybe squeeze it out an have much better luck in gettin it all out.

You could put him in an epsom salt bath soak up to his chest..like 4 times a day, ten minutes each, warm water..this will draw out poisons and make it softer to pull off. You have to get the infection out before it can heal..honey or spray, it is going to take awhile with consistent application.

Yes, i have some hopeful news.....
apparently there is an internest from Guelph University that is specializing in Poultry that is spending her internship at my vet clinic..... they don't get many chickens in there...
they told me to bring Ernie in and the student is going to perform the surgery on him and the vets agreed that is would be a good experience and they are giving us a HUGE break on the procedure....
i think Ernie is a lucky boy....
keep ya posted
