Eureka California Earthquake ....

Well this this Florida native was freaking out. I am minding my biz on the eliptical and the darn thing started rocking and rolling...I leapt off grabbing my keys at the same time, ran to the van and drove like a mad woman to get home. My ducks were huddled in a big pile in the corner of their enclosure farthest distance from the trees, my chickens were all out huddled up at the end of their run and the babies in the garage were going nuts. One dog was in my walk-in closet and the other was trying to claw the front door down.

I am about 30 minutes north of Cali border and we were rocking and rolling here. I hate Earthquakes and Tornadoes and least with hurricanes we have days warning. There is only one way I want the earth to move and that is not it.

I thought the same thing! I didn't know until I read it on yahoo. I've been here for almost 20 years and have never felt one, pretty sad. I was way too far south to feel this one though.

Cetawin, must be calling Daughter in Cal today....She's in a small town - Peanut....Pray she's okay...I bet her little geese were bizarre.

When we had a horrific tornado here - a freak one and unexpected all the animals started going biserk....about 5 hours before it and wouldn't stop.....

Early warning system, must pay attention to them next time!

Glad you are ok

Bargain I will say a prayer for your Daughter. So far no injuries reported and no real damage of any kind so she should be fine. Funny thing, the animals were not acting out of sorts at 2 pm when DH and I left and the thing hit around 4:30 pm, they were really weird by the time I got home at about 4:50 pm. Had I been home the hours prior, I would have noticed them behaving differently. I know the animals used to warn of bad storms back home during hurricane season...for days they would be out of sorts.

Thanks Cetawin.....I want to call, but I think I'll hold off till 10:00 am our time on East Coast...
