Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

Good Morning!

I slept last night. I mean I laid down on the couch at 7:30 and was out by 8 and it felt good! I am still a little sluggish this morning, but I am chugging on my mountain dew, so I should perk up soon. The roads are fairly clear now, so I did get to drive today. Colton has classes this morning, but they did go ahead and cancel classes at the school he goes in the afternoon. They got more snow than we did and Colton said it was a mess down there yesterday when he went to see Luke.

algo--Sorry to hear your son is sick, hope he is back to bouncing in no time!! Those chicks are really testing your patience, aren't they? That is the hardest part about incubating. Not the temps or humidity or brooder set up, it is the wait!! I hope you have chirping babies soon!

quiet--You sound like me, if one of the animals is not feeling well, it is into the house I go with it. I usually take them to the garage, but it has just been too cold out there with what little heat we have. Hubby is not happy, but gets used to it!

When hubby dropped us off last night at home after work, the goats were huddled in their house and Destiny asked where Betsy the turkey was. Hubby said he thought she was dead, she was laying by the food bowl Sunday afternoon and still there yesterday morning when he went to work. I just said, maybe so, but do you know how many times I have thought the same thing when I look out the window at her? Sure enough, we pulled around where we could see and she was "talking" loudly and running around the pen! I started to tear up at the thought of losing her after all we had been through with her.

charmed--How is your daughter feeling? It is going to take her some time to get adjusted to this weather. Shoot, I have been here all winter and I'm still not adjusted! lol Did Harry enjoy run of the office yesterday? I hope he is starting to eat and drink now! Is he still taking antibiotics?

NY--How goes it with you? You too busy hatching babies to check in with us? You need to come give algo a pep talk!!

rir--Still enjoying your weather, I assume? Too bad you don't live closer, I have some tickets coming I am sure you would absolutely love! The Country Stampede in Manhattan, Kansas. There are tons of big name stars that are going to be there. Check out www.countrystampede.com

Good morning all! Looks like I missed a lot yesterday. I need to go back and do some reading.

We had a meeting at the school yesterday. I think I told you that with Raymonds TBI he qualifies for Special Ed. So they hold IEP meetings. Yesterday was our first one since he started HS. I was very impressed with his teachers that attended. They were all very helpful and kind, also they have some great ideas to help hm succeed. Also we found out that the FB coach has offered to spend part of his free period with Raymond helping with his physical strength. Sort of like Physical Therapy. There was a boy a couple of years age that suffered a TBI and Coach M worked with him with great success. So he has offered the same to Raymond. It will take a little time away from Art Class but that teacher, also a coach, has offered to tailor Raymonds assignments to work around that. Raymond is very excited. He really likes Coach M and is excited to be FB Manager for him again next year. I thought it was very nice and gives him something to look forward to and help him physically as well.

After our meeting we stopped at Kens folks house and they offered to take us out for supper. So it was after 7 by the time we got home. I had left poor Mocha in the yard and she was not happy with me!

That is great news! It is good to hear that you also have a wonderful football coach that truly cares about the kids like we do! I would love to strangle our coach sometimes for the plays he calls, decisions he makes on the field, etc, but I cannot complain about the compassion he has for our students. It makes a world of difference in the attitudes on and off the field. Like I said, when Colton and a few boys got in trouble last season, it was off school property, but they were still wearing the jerseys and representing the team and coach handled it great. I am so excited for Raymond and God bless your coach!

We used to go to IEP meetings for Colton. He qualified for "special ed" also in middle school. In eighth grade, they decided he had a speech problem. I asked why they just now decided that and come to find out, he was absent when they tested in like second grade and didn't go back and test him. Geesh! So, we agreed for him to have speech therapy for a year. It didn't seem to be any different from when they started, so we pulled him for high school. Yes, he does mumble his words some but it is because he doesn't just speak out most of the time and seriously, his tongue is way too long! He spent the whole year learning to "control" his tongue so his words would come out clearer!

The sun is shinning straight through my window. 70 degrees and beautiful. The rain and clouds are no where to be seen. My weather station says we are in for rain again on the weekend though I say bring it on I need more grass to grow for my girls.

Regarding that story of the lady who sold the children. The sentence is pretty lenient. I am sure they can say that even though she got paid it was in the best interest of the children to go with a family who could open doors that the woman could not.

I do love country music. If only I lived closer so I could get in on that country concert.

Good Morning! DD is still sick. Feels like she is running a fever but since I have no thermometer I don't know. No thermometer you say?!!!! Yes, we old fogies don't seem to need thermometers. Sick is sick whether you have a fever or not. Not use to having young-uns around the house for any length of time. Anyway...she is taking meds and resting. Harry is still alive but I don't know for how long. He still won't eat or drink. All he is getting is what I'm giving him. He seems to like the run of the office though...he has more room for his big tail! DD is going to try to give him some more to eat and drink while I'm gone today. Maybe that will help.

Michelle....glad the roads are clear for you. No snow on the ground here but it sure is cold! Colder where you're at I see. Stay warm!!!

Chickenchick...I'm so glad to here they are taking care of Raymond! That will make all the difference as he grows up.

Purple...I hope Issac gets to feeling better. I want pics when your peep-pees hatch!!

quiet....I am jealous you are getting a bator. I know you will really enjoy it!

Rir...Do you have to separate the baby guppies from their mommas? I have never raised guppies before.

WHERE IS NY?????

It is quite a drive for us, like 4 hours or something, but my daughter and her friends went last year and I think I am going to try to go this year. It is always around the time I have to put on the Colgate Country Showdown, so I am always so stressed about that and don't think ahead of time. There are good performers every night, but we definitely want to see Darius Rucker and Keith Urban on Friday night. I will have the tickets, just need to decide how long we want to stay!

my new 20X4 foot mint patch is on its way. I put some wire around my existing mint patch so the girls could not get in and sure enough I am seeing mint blooms wherever the girls can't get to them.

charmed, I have never separated the babies from their mom. I do make sure the babies have plenty of spaces to hide while they are vulnerable to being eaten.

Having pet fish is a treat. I do find that the more pets you get the less attention the fish get. I would say fish are great to have if you are not able to keep any other pet. But once you have cats, dogs, and chickens they truly go neglected and unappreciated.

We have a thermometer! Hubby kisses the forehead, if it is warm, then there's a fever! I agree, sick is sick, there doesn't need to be a thermometer involved!

Poor Harry, I wish he would start eating! Maybe he will be so happy your daughter is home that he will listen to her!

It is cold here. 24 degrees and sounds like there are a couple of really cold nights coming up. Tonight's low of 3 and tomorrow night down to 1.

When the kids were younger, I had tons of thermometers around. Now that they are older and can tell you they are sick, it isn't so necessary. If they feel even remotely that hot, it is time to take them to the doctor anyway. Luckily, we have long outgrown the up all night screaming sick stage. Colton had an ear infection every 3 months for the first couple years like clockwork. Always came on a Friday night after the doctor's offices were closed. High fever and screaming. He would recover from that and develop yeast infection. It was a vicious cycle! Now, he just suffers from allergies and I have to remind him to take Claritin before it gets too bad. Destiny has hardly been sick a day in her life!
