) it's hot today! I was outside for 20 minutes feeding the animals and I thought I was going to have a heat stroke. Ugh! Weather channel says it feels like 102 and humidity is as close to 100% as it can get without raining.

It hasn't rained in weeks. We need something to cool us off! Usually by this time of year it's raining every afternoon.

Made dinner last night...home-made chicken fingers, fried squash from my garden, and yellow rice. It was sooooo good, especially the squash. I picked 3 more today and can't wait to fry them up! The squash and tomatoes are the only things that really did well this year, although the eggplants are starting to come along.

I have 2 4-day-old Chihuahua/Dachshund/Pekingese mixes on a bottle that someone dropped off the clinic. They both have cleft lips, but it doesn't extend to their palates, so they should be able to function normally and maybe even look semi-normal after surgery when they're older. Because I need something to feed every 3 hours...

Rain where is the rain. we are so dry it's frightening. I went out to the farm last night and it's a desert. I feel bad for all the livestock in this heat and dryness. So my prayer again today is for rain.

Kelly those little pups seem so cute. I am happy someone dropped them off for you to take care of. Where are the pics?

busy work week. they hired someone to help me out and it's starting to payoff. she has only been here two days, but i can tell she is going to work out great.

Kelly hope your new job works out like you want it to.

going to shreveport LA this weekend with DH. We are dropping cattle and then spending the rest of the day and the night. Use to we would drive 10 hours drop the cattle and turn around and drive home 10 hours. but he said we need to spend more time together and see some of this country we have blast through in the past. so i am game.

Robin--I wish we could send some of the rain/flooding we have up our way. Last Thursday's storm alone dumped 4 1/2 inches in just a few hours. I also really hope you have a good weekend with your hubby!

KellyHM--I am trying to send you the nice breeze and mild temps we have had the last few days! I agree, we need pics of those puppies and then you need to send them right on up here!!

Hey, I've been crazy busy at work .. and no internet connection at home.

I mostly cover the Anthony trial at work.

We're hot and dry here too..

I'm warring against raccoons .. but I have a plan ..

Let's see .. I've had teeth pulled, chickens killed, daughter off to Iowa, FIL in and out of the hospital, anniversary, DHs birthday, .... it's just been nonstop.

I hope everyone is good.

Robin, the rain is here

Lots of it. Montana is having severe flooding and our snow has not begun to melt high in the mountians yet. People are losing there houses and livestock. Not good

I can't complain really, we live in a safe area but our renter in town is having issues.

Amtrak (the passenger train) is not running and some freight has even been stopped. You can see chunks of railroad track missing in some photos I was sent. My ex works for the RR. I will see if I can get those posted. They are wild.
