Everything Asil Thread ( show off those Asil )

I think I may have heard of that place, but I can't remember off the top of my head. Also,I wouldn't hesitate to get the eggs in,because most people save chicken eggs for 7 days, which is the maximum amount of time you can safely store chicken hatching eggs for,and then they ship them out, thinking they will get there within a day or two...that means your eggs were probably 10 days old at most before you ever got them. That means you are likely to have a lower hatch rate,on top of the already hard to raise chicks...as Asil chicks a lot of times need a mother to care for them,as brooding lowers the amount of birds a who actually survive. I don't know why this happens, but I have heard that the same is true for pure red jungle fowl, that you will be much better off incubating eggs and raising chicks under a hen than you will in an incubator and brooder. So again,in the future,if ordering eggs, set up ur incubator a day in advance,so that an you get the eggs, you can automatically put them in the incubator, thus upping your success rate.

People expect too much. There are numerous variables that can effect hatch rate. Not even a mother hen hatches all her eggs everytime. You either wait for hatcherybirds in the springor or find a breeder. I had allready been in contact with them before I found they also sold on ebay. It's. A calculated risk. If two out of 12 hatch. I will consider it a success. That's how determined i am to get the specific breeds I am looking for. I also purchased 6 O'Shamo ,show stock, and am after more.

We just attended a poultry show yesterday here in new york, and I bought a pair of bbr cubalaya standards, a pair of Wheaton OE game bantams,a trio of birchen OE game bantams(the cockerel earned the name jackass, because he likes to get aggressive with me),the we got a pair of ail bantams, the cockerel being a Wheaton, and the pullet being a blue Wheaton, and then we got a pair of dark Cornish bantams. They are really pretty,I will have to try to get a pic of them an post it on here.

The eggs came from Green Valley Stables in Pennsylvania

I remember a Green Valley that showed and imported asils back in the 70's or 80's that imported some that turned out to be one of the top line of game asils in the USA (still today but under other name) they were in Pennsylvania (good folks) .
But that was 45 yrs back .... you might could s=ask them , might be some of the same family .

Good Luck
