(ex)-boyfriend problems, advice needed

I am not trying to hurt you....I am trying to help you.....I am not a person who will "sugar coat it". I have been through ALOT in my life and don't want to see someone make the same mistakes! Young love hurts....ALOT! I made mistakes and regret them. I am hoping you won't do the same. Feeling like a fool haunts you for a LONG time! I would tell my children the same thing..sorry if you don't like it but it is MY point of view.

I appreciate your honesty. But even so, I don't think you should go around calling emotional teenagers "basket cases" just because they react to being hurt. There's a big difference between "sugar coating it" and completely blowing it out of proportion.

BTW I want to add. I dont mean you shouldn't go out and have fun...in fact that is exactly what you should do. The best way to get over someone ...is someone else. But don't expect too much because your heart is still broken and hasn't had time to heal. Spend some time thinking about what you want your life to be when you are say....30 years old.... and work toward that goal. Find someone AT SOME POINT that fits into that dream. But now is not the time for "forever" or falling in love.

But anyways that's beside the point. Whether you think I'm a "basket case" or not is completely irrelevant to me. Think what you want. But as of right now, the purpose of this thread has seemed to come to a close, seeing as I can no longer go after the new guy (now that I found out he drinks sometimes too...) and my ex is obviously not coming back. Hah, so much for that. Oh well. Thanks for all your advice anyways.

I only use the straight forward approach...because that is all I know...I apologize if I offended you... I would say the same if you were my child. Teenage years are hard for everyone! After that is the rest of your life. You will find someone when the time is right.
