First ultrasound!? Or first appointment, period!?

First appointment, period. I went in before to do a pregnancy test, but that's all that was done. The lab nurses told me that this appointment tomorrow would be a long appointment and I would have to give 7 tubes of blood, do a physical exam, and maybe a vaginal ultrasound for measurements.

I guess my Dr does not care that much lol. I don't remember them ever taking that much blood and they have never done anything vaginal. I asked them last week why not and they had no idea how I managed to never have an exam lol. I was not complaining. Said they would just do it at my 6 week check up after baby is born.

I finally got all my pics. uploaded so thought I would share...

This is at my baby shower March 6th. My sister, mother, myself and best friend from left to right.
Does not look like I am that far along cuz I carry so low.

This is the diaper cake I made and my friend decorated for me. Looked way better but bad lighting in the pic.

Wow, 7 tubes of blood seems like a lot! I guess it's good that they're being thorough! Let us know how it all goes!!

Algo, I never had a physical exam either... just the standard BP and weight at every appointment...

I never had a Vaginal exam either, and the only time they took blood was the 16 week genetic testing and the Gluclose test. But I bet the Vaginal exams will start soon...

Do you usually have another ultrasound closer to your due date to check that baby is head down? Just wondering because my next appt. is at 34 weeks, and MIL would like to see an ultrasound.

Well, it's been an interesting 24 hours for me. I couldn't sleep last night and eventually realized I was having contractions. Timed them out to 2-3 minutes inbetween lasting about 30 seconds each. I'm only 30 weeks, so that's an Issue. So we ran over to the ER; they sent us to the Labor and Delivery unit and they Labor and Delivery people eventually gave me a shot to stop the contractions (after about 6 different tests came back). We got home about at about 2:30 am. Got up the next morning and felt fine... Until I finished breakfast when they started back up again.

Sooo. After another trip, this time to my regular doc, I'm now on some pills to stop the contractions and am on 'moderate' bedrest. I'm allowed limited exercise for up to two hours a day (not all at once). I'm going to go stir crazy before I even get to the weekend...

Wow so glad they were able to stop them! I went through that at 29 weeks (dehydration) but they gave me no shots. Just said go home and keep your feet up and don't get up unless you just have to and oh btw, drink as much water as possible. lol Ya know I was going to the bathroom all day. Maybe you will be like me and will have to be induced in the end. I was at 39 weeks.

Wow! Doesn't look like you will need Diapers anytime soon!

That is just what I was given. There are lots more in the closet. I don't believe you can have enough of those things.
