no, no....u want him fully incubated! and I would be jealous...I am not feeling like it is soon for me yet.

ok....anyone here that can explain contractions to me? I would assume that I will know when I have them, but I get all sorts of wierd pains and discomforts so how do I know if he is kicking and pushing on something or if it's a contraction? any clues? Am I mistaking a contraction (braxton hicks) for something else? Seems like everyone thinks I should have experienced that by now, but idk.

For me, the real ones felt like menstrual cramps. BH would feel like tightening and I had those for a LONG time before I sent into labor, but with the real ones, I would get cramping just like menstrual cramps in my lower back. Real contractions also have the tightening feeling.

Hope that made some sense!

My answer is gonna kinda suck and be sorta generic.... If youve had Braxton Hicks contractions (the tightenening and hardening of your uterus), then you kinda have an idea of what labor will be like, except, its gonna hurt and it doesnt stop hurting till the uterus relaxes. The pain may start in your lower back and wrap around to the front, or it may be all in the front. The contractions wont stop if you change postitions or go to the bathroom or eat or drink. They will not be bad at first like the PP said, kinda like period cramps that come and go. But after awhile they will get stronger and you will not doubt when you are in labor. My contraction pains have always started in the front and pretty much stayed there the whole time, not alot of back pain. Everyone has a different experience and has a different pain tolerence so its hard to really explain contractions in a way that doesnt directly reflect my personal experience. Which may be far different from what you experience. What ever happens, it will be the way YOUR body is meant to do things and feel things and it will be unique to you. But just right!

when DD had her son(preemie) she only felt constipated For 36 hrs before she had him. almost didnt go to the hospital the day she had him... for me that the way I felt with my second daughter she was almost born at home.... I think severe minstral cramps would describe contractions the best

Just wondering.. does anyone remember which week they were in when they first felt definate movement from baby? I'm almost 17 weeks and still not sure if Ive felt this baby move yet! I keep thinking, maaaayyyybe that was a tiny wiggle I just felt, but I'm still just not sure. I think its just digestion stuff... Hope Im not the only one not sure at this many weeks yet. Oh, and this baby #6, so its not a first baby or anything, so I keep freaking out, thinking something isnt right. Maybe its just one of those 'every pregnancy is different' things, IDK.

So, can ya'll share your experiences? I could use some positive thinking !!

I'm glad I rented one of those fetal heart dopplers, but it doesnt come till tomorrow, so I'll be worried till I get to hear that wonderful swooshing in surround sound!

At 17 weeks, I was still having to use my imagination to feel the baby. I was pretty sure I felt some wiggles, but they weren't consistent and definitely weren't very strong. I think it was 19 or 20 weeks when I felt my first hard kick this pregnancy. Now I'm feeling them consistently (23 weeks).

I felt the same way, people kept asking if I could feel him move and I wasn't sure. I thought it felt like digestion/air bubbles. The more it happened then I realized it was him not intestinal movement. So you probably are feeling your baby move.
