Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Wow, sounds like an exciting couple of days for everyone.

--Did I detect someone letting us know there is a name decided? Baby Carly?

--RFF, I agree that it should be your choice. I sure hope to be able to deliver vaginally but it may not be in my cards. And, as we know, expect the unexpected.

So even if you decide one way, your baby may decide that's not the way she wants to come out. Oh, & I think you mentioned something about edema in the lower legs- make sure you get yourself support hose!

--MK, I've started feeling some strains when I'm overactive. I assume it's probably Braxton-Hicks. Gets better if/when I'm able to slow down. Unfortunately work doesn't always allow me to.

--SC, Looking like a good bump going on! I think my DH would have a cow if I was trying to trot around with a horse. He barely lets me lift groceries. Ugh! Your DD is a cutie.

I'm sure I've missed something but that's what I can remember for now.

Yep, that was me. I announced it about 20 pages back finally, but here is the short version. Her name is Carly Sharlene. Sharlene was my mom's middle name and Carly's initials will match DH's... I'm glad to have finally come up with something. I struggled trying to come up with something that went well with Sharlene. And then to match DH's initials was just the icing on the cake for me!!

Wow! Y'all have been active this morning! I had to catch up on what's going on.

I had my glucose test this morning - the 1-hour type. The stuff wasn't that bad to drink, but about 45 mins afterwards I was lightheaded and felt like I had had way too much sugar. The nurse said I actually tolerated it very well because she has had some women come in and pass out, throw up, and lay on the bathroom floor feeling awful. I hope that means I passed! We'll know in a couple of days.

In the meantime, I've got less than 2 weeks until my next ultrasound. If we don't find out what we are having at that one, it's going to be a surprise! We can't afford the 3D/4D type and would rather put that money towards something for the baby instead.

ALSO!!!! I found my crib!!! We've been on a mad search for an USA made crib and we were having really crappy luck finding one within our price range. We can't see putting thousands of dollars in a crib that will be used for just a short period of time. But, anyways, I stopped at this hole-in-the-wall furniture store and TA-DA! There it was - a Virginia made Bassett solid oak crib with a mattress made in NC for $268. That just made my day.

So, now I've got to get to work canning some tomatoes. My bushes have decided to just produce tomatoes like crazy the last few days. BTW - I haven't had any heartburn since I've started eating a sliced up tomato everyday with a couple tsps of ACV poured over the top.

Ms.FuzzyButts :

Hey Quail!! How did your bake sale go this weekend? Any leftovers????

Nope, no left overs
big_smile.png
It all sold and I made a small profit (after expenses were taken out). Hoping to do it again this next Friday (I hope!) and have 1 or 2 other possible markets I can sell at.

AND, have a tentatively reserved spot at a local Farmer's market for next year!
big_smile.png

I tucked back some of the $ I made for something special for Baby Girl!
big_smile.png

We also sold some of our garden produce right out our own front door this week. Every little bit helps, right?!

My next dr. appt is not until a week from tomorrow, but I want to remember to tell her my ankles have looked puffy. Don't remember having swollen ankles with the others!

Here's my 30 week 2 day belly pic

ETA: DATE IS DEFINITELY WRONG IN THIS PIC! I have to fix my camera settings - that pic was taken July 17, 2011 NOT January 16, 2007 - wasn't even expecting in 2007

Yay! Glad it went well for you. Extra money is always nice. And if you sold out once, I'm sure you can do it again. Loving your 4 year old belly bump! haha.... The date thingy always annoys me. So I just have mine turned off.

I guess I missed it, or forgot (lovely pregnancy brain

), the first time around.
Wow! So hard to decide on a name.... We've consolidated our list to about 40 first names (none of which I'm actually sure we'll use but it's a start). Once we get to about 20 then we'll start thinking about middle names.

I know!!!! I swear it's easier to name a chicken.

If we could spend a week with our kid first, then give them a name, I think it would be alot easier.

That's how I am...I have no idea on any names...well...I kind of do....I had it narrowed down to 3 or 4 I liked and DH doesn't really care either way.
roll.png
So I asked him not to say anything to anyone yet....(this was like February or March). And of course--DH spills his guts to his mom! She's the LAST person I'd trust with any information!

So you can imagine my embarrassment when DH's 85 year old grandmother asks about "the name" we picked and how we got it. I told her we hadn't picked out ANY name yet and we weren't going to until after she's born and we get to see her....so then DH's grandmother proceeds to give me a HAND-MADE QUILT with the name AUDREY on it!

Yes, it was one of the FOUR names I liked....but NOT the name we'd settled on or anything.
